2014 was the year when speaking ‘Slang’ defiantly came into trend. Some people can say they love how 2014 was pretty much evolutionary and an outbreak, but others may not agree.
“My favorite phrase is squad, because I miss my friends in Lincoln,” sophomore Braxton Adrian. “But my least favorite is swag, it’s just annoying.”
I personally think that these 2014 phrases and words were both good and bad. Good because while talking you can add some humor and comedy into your speaking. Bad because some people get so used to speaking that way, that it interferes with their everyday life.
For example It would make people sound less educated and actually quite ridiculous. In some situations they are just straight up ANNOYING!
“YOLO is a word people use to try to sound cool, but they are actually just annoying and I hate it!” junior Carlos Guerrero, “I do like the word Fleek, It’s just fun to say!”
2014 was the year of being Young and Reckless, what will 2015 be the year of?
