There are always two types of people on the first day of school: the one student who is excited to tackle their first day of classes and is ready to start a new school year, and the student that is dreading stepping foot into the school for the first time after an amazing summer. This stereotype can easily be found right here inside the walls of HHS.
Senior Alex Briones was one of the students who was not looking forward to coming back to school.
“Walking in on the first day, I just didn’t really want to come to school,” Briones said.
Simply coming to school wasn’t the end of the struggle though. Briones knew he had a full schedule with challenging classes awaiting him.
“I’m not really all that excited about my classes. I just want to get them over with and graduate,” Briones said.
Senior Grace Clawson was one of the few students that was looking forward to coming back and starting her senior year.
“I had a pretty good summer. It was nice just to unwind,” Clawson said.
Along with having some relaxing time this summer, Clawson also prepared herself for her senior year by getting ready for college.
“I did a lot of college visits this summer and kind of focused on getting ready for college,” Clawson said.
Senior Shyann Chitty was also one of the many students that wanted to keep on living a great summer.
“I really didn’t want summer to end, I loved it and had a great summer,” Chitty said.
In all reality, we must all come back to school and start yet another year. For some, coming back to school might be what they’ve been waiting for all summer, but to others it may be what they have been dreading all summer. Not to worry for summer 2k 17 will be here before we know it.
