Avengers: Endgame broke box office records when it was released Thursday and has already made over 350 million dollars in revenue. Since Marvel’s Infinity War was released last April, people have been counting down the days until they could get seats to the finale of the Infinity Saga.
Going into the movie, I would highly recommend seeing Infinity War and some of the earlier Avengers movies before. There are so many characters and references to earlier movies that it would be extremely confusing.
This movie includes a wide variety of genres from action to romance. There is something for everyone and plenty of plot twists. The movie is anything but predictable, with Thor killing Thanos at the beginning of the movie, which left the whole audience asking, “What now?”. Towards the end, Ironman snapped his fingers while wielding the infinity stones. As a result, he dies from the shock it has on his body.
Even though many reviews say it left many plot holes, I don’t think it could have wrapped up the story better and even if I did have questions afterward, I was too focused on the positives.
One thing that stood out to me was the fact that Captain Marvel only showed up a few times in the span of three hours. Especially since Marvel just released the movie for Captain Marvel, I was expecting her to play a lead role in defeating Thanos. Overall, she was a huge disappoint.
Some might say that three hours is too long to sit in a theatre. Because this is the last original Avengers movie, I think it was the perfect amount of time to fully develop the plot and include as many details as to not make it confusing for the audience.
The way Marvel ended with Captain America being able to go back in time to see the love of his life had me close to tears. Even though this movie also meant losing some of the most beloved members of the Avengers, people will still be watching it years from now and be blown away by the creativity and amount of thought that was clearly put into Avengers: Endgame.
