The girl’s basketball team defeated Mccook 48-28 on Tuesday evening to become subdistrict champions. The girls now advance to the district final to be played on Saturday, February 17th at York High School. This matchup was made because the girls are 11th in power points, and the Dukes are 6th. The winner will play in the first round of the state tournament on March 1st in Lincoln. Students are encouraged to wear neon as the theme.
The Tigerettes will also be in action Saturday at the state dance competition. The event will be held at Heartland Event Center in Grand Island Nebraska. The doors open to the public at 8 am. The cost for students is $6.00 and the cost for adults is $8.00. The Tigerettes will perform their jazz routine at 10:15, and their hip-hop routine at 3:50. Students are also encouraged to attend and cheer on the dancers.
