As students line up on the left side to buy tickets for prom, they can conveniently buy post prom tickets on the right side.
As prom comes closer and closer, many students are wondering what their plans will be after prom ends.
Parents can get worried about where their child will be during those late hours. Because of this, a group of parents have decided to create a Post Prom event. This year, Post Prom has been run by Beth Coil, princess nominee Charli Coil’s mother.
“It has been the tradition as far back as I can recall for the Parents of the Junior Class to Host the Post-Prom Event, the purpose of the event is to provide a fun, safe, substance-free place for students to gather after prom. We will be providing lots of food, games, activities, and prizes for all HHS Junior’s, Senior’s and their dates,” Coil said.
Beth has not only been the lead organizer of this year’s Post Prom, but has also helped in years before.
“This will be the 3rd Post – Prom that I have helped with the planning. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the event has not been held for the past two years, it is exciting to again be able to plan and host this event for our students,” Coil said.
Although Post Prom is directed to those going to prom, any Junior or Senior who buys a ticket for only Post Prom is allowed to enter.
“Students who do not attend Prom are still encouraged to embrace this social opportunity,” Coil said.
Post Prom begins Immediately at 11:00 pm, right when Prom ends, and will shut down at 2:30 in the morning.
“We are planning for 300 students to attend, we want to provide a fun event where they can continue their prom celebrations into the early morning hours,” Coil said.
This year, the Post Prom organizers have decided to rent out the entire 18th street YMCA and host Post Prom there.
“There will be games and activities set up throughout the Y such as Laser Tag, Axe Throwing and a Zombies/Aliens Escape Room Trailer just to name a few. In addition we have lots of food planned, pizza, subs, a candy bar, coffee bar, smoothies and breakfast burritos. For Prizes, there will be lots of prizes to give away,” Coil said.
