Since 1963 Doctor Who has been one of the most popular T.V. and book series in the U.S. and U.K.. Doctor Who is about an “alien Time Lord” that travels to different times and space with a “Tardis.” Hastings High’s liberian Faye Friesen decided to bring a little piece of Doctor Who to the school’s library.
“I’m going build a Doctor Who Tardis and we’re going to have a Doctor Who collection in the library,” Friesen said.
The “Tardis” is a magical Police Box that allows the Doctor to travel.
Friesen plans on having the Tardis done after Thanksgiving Break. She still has to add some details such as painting the “Tardis”.
“It’s got to be the perfect color,” she says.
Friesen plans on adding in the smaller details of the “Tardis” to make it seem like the one from the show.
“I’m going to get a light and we will be able to plug it in and the light will be up there,” she said.
She is also going to add “POLICE” to the top.
“My sister has one of those things that cuts out the letters and I’m going to make her do that,” Friesen said.
Friesen wants to have the Tardis in tip top shape for the students to take pictures with it and to check out books.
“During parent teacher conferences or during open houses or something I could set it up so kids can return books and check out books,” said Friesen.
Be on the look out for the blue Tardis. Friesen plans on taking it to different places around the school for students to enjoy.
