Early signing day was in full swing on November 8th. Student athletes Olivia Douglas, Tatiem Bender, Connor Laux, and Dylan Glaser participated in this event. Douglas and Bender are signing for softball while Laux and Glaser are signing for baseball.
Olivia Douglas committed to South Dakota State University (SDSU) early. Douglas had been on the search for an amazing campus to spend the next four years of her life continuing her career and education, and that is just what she found.
“I love the coaches and the town of Brookings! It is a good fit for me,” Douglas said.
Douglas is in a different situation than other signers. She is graduating early and is more than excited to be attending SDSU for their fall season in 2018.
Laux committed to University of Nebraska at Kearney on October 25th after his announcement of furthering his education and baseball career in Kearney. Laux decided this is the place for him because he made a close connection with the coaching staff. The next phase in his life consists of hitting the weight room and getting in the batting cages as much as possible to better prepare himself for the next level.
“I am very happy with my decision to be playing at Kearney next year,” Laux said.
Laux is happy to have found a college so right for him because the process is long and draining trying to find a college good for you.
“I picked Wesleyan because there are a lot of great academic opportunities for me there and I was really impressed with their baseball program,” Glaser said.
Glaser decided to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University after announcing his commitment on November 2nd, 2017, a week before he signed. His decision was influenced by how the small their campus is, but he still gets to enjoy the town of Lincoln. After visiting the campus, he knew it was the place for him. Glaser couldn’t be more thrilled about his singing and commitment to the program.
