Somehow, during our lives, we always meet one of most famous sports in the world. There are competitions, professional players and of course the famous NBA. At HHS students have the chance to play competitive basketball on the school team, but for everyone else who does not want to play in competitions, there is Intramural Basketball sponsored by Mrs. Teetor.
Many teams play intramural every year and the philosophy of this activity is “The more the better” and Teetor says, “Intramural is an activity open to any student here in HHS”.
The purpose of intramural is to make everyone play! Indeed, as Teetor says, “The aim of intramural is to give kids who like basketball, but choose not to play on the high school team, a chance to play basketball in a somewhat competitive setting. We also want kids to be able to come and have fun playing basketball with their friends.”
“The best part of sponsoring intramural basketball is watching kids come and have fun.” So students are not the only ones who have fun during this activity. Adults can have a great time too!
Sometimes students take some time to organize a team and sometimes they just decide to join, as senior Haley Mazour says, “Well one night some of my friends and I were talking about IBA and we just decided to start our own team!”
The IBA has no competitive aim, just having fun and spending a night together with some friends, “I just really like playing the game, and it’s fun to get competitive. And I really like getting a chance to play with my friends”, Mazour says.
IBA can be a great activity and a perfect moment to play all together! The next Intramural activity will be the volleyball one and. Teetor invites everyone who is interested!
