When people think of science they think they have to be an expert and know everything however that is not the case.
Science Club is on Wednesday mornings at seven thirty in the lecture hall, room 133.
“Something I’ve noticed is that the posters we hang around the school are not noticed as much,” said Angela Vu.
The hardest thing about science club is getting people to stay for the whole year. Last year, they started out with sixty and only ten people stayed. This year, only ten people came to the first meeting.
“When we go to our meetings we talk about volunteer work that we could do and discuss where we could go for field trips. We also talk about how to get more people involved,” Vu said.
Science club has three notification groups: Facebook, Remind 101, and Google Groups. Part of the problem is not everyone has internet and smartphones.
They have to figure out how to notify people who do not have internet and smartphones.
Some of the other activities have their meetings at the same time. Students then have to decide which meeting they want to go to.
One of the field trips they went to was glassblowing demonstrations at the college.
Science Club is working on putting their information on the school bulletin in Powerschool.
When the Hastings Senior High had their open house, Science Club had a stand and not a lot of people showed up.
Science Club is a great way to make new friends and get involved in an extracurricular activity at school.
