Each year, the YWCA hosts an event for girls in high school to find a prom dress at an extremely cheap cost when compared to other prom dresses. Each dress is in good, pre-owned condition, and the funding that is made from this event goes straight towards the YWCA’s youth programs, which runs solely off of donations and grants.
Racks of various dresses are lined up according to their size and color, making it easy to find the perfect dress. Once people find a few dresses that could serve as potential prom dresses, they can try them on. Alterations can easily be made by a seamstress who charges a small fee for any alterations you would like to be made to the dress.
Each dress costs only $30, no matter the quality or brand. The YWCA started with over 1000 dresses and sold about 130 last year, which set a new record. To find a beautiful prom dress for a fraction of the price, go to the YWCA from 1-4 p.m. on March 8 and 15.
