Nate Nordby, a junior at Hastings High School, is a student who gets recognized for what he does inside and outside of the classroom. Nordby is involved in many things here at HHS which include National Honors Society, and Mentoring Works. He also gets high praise from his coaches such as the boys basketball coach Lance Creech.
Nordby is recognized as a three-sport athlete and an all honors student. He explains how he takes on challenges along with school such as work and sports
“The main thing I focus on is always being productive with my time. I go straight from school to sports to homework. If I have free time after that I’ll go have fun,” Nordby said.
His mom Candice Nordby and Coach Creech noticed that he also changed his diet to help him with school and sports.
“I really started noticing Nate’s change in diet towards the end of his freshman year in highschool. He stopped eating junk food, drinking soda, and wanted high protein, low fat meals,” Candice Nordby said.
An important person in his life is his basketball coach who has also noticed Nordby’s change in diet.
“Of course good fuel in equals good results. You can’t run a rocket on diesel fuel,” Creech said.
As a basketball player, Nordby works hard and it helps others around him and Creech has noticed.
“His discipline and work ethic rubs off on everyone around him,” Creech said.
