It is the goal of most teams to be a dream team. To reach that goal, teams put forth effort and hard work, it isn’t luck.
What is a dream team?
“A group of people that work together, that would die for each other. They will play their hearts out, just to win; just to see each other succeed. They motivate each other to the point where they are unbeatable. They are from a team most could only dream about being on,” Sophomore Adam Florian said.
One of the most well-known dream teams is the 1992 USA Olympic basketball team.
That team exceeded being a dream team by dominating every team in the world. They scored more than 100 points every game in the 1992 Olympics, and allowed less than 90 points in that amazing run.
Of course, that team contained players like Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson, who were a couple of the best players in the NBA at that time.
Others look to their home state for their dream team. “My favorite dream team of all time has to be the 1997 Nebraska Cornhuskers football team,” Sophomore Damian Collins said.
The 1997 Nebraska football team had gone a perfect 13-0, beating everyone on their schedule soundly. Although they did have to beat Missouri in overtime, they ultimately prevailed and ended with the perfect season.
They built a dynasty, one that college football had not seen until the mid 1990’s.
Dream teams can come in any sport, whether it’s in professional or high school level sports.
Recently, the Seward Lady Jays basketball team had gone four years without suffering a loss. That meant four state titles in a row. That team had put up more than 100 victories.
That team could be called a “Dream Team” in some ways.
In other words, a Dream Team is a team that cannot, and decides that they will not be beat.
