Trunk or Treat is a new event at HHS and is being run by senior Charli Coil and junior Emma Ventura.
The event is for students and others to come decorate the trunks of their cars and hand out candy to younger kids. The event will happen on the 29th from 6-7:30 in the north parking lot.
“We encourage everyone who is able to set up a trunk to come! It is great for the community to have students involved in this and for the children attending,” Ventura said.
Student council has been planning this event for about a month. This event is for the community to come together, decorate their trunks, and hand out candy to elementary students.
“My sister, her friend and I are decorating our car, and I’m excited to decorate it so we can see the little kids’ reactions as they come by,” vice president of student council, Abigail Fielder said.
Student council has been working on trying to get others in the community involved in different events that will occur during the year. Trunk or Treat is one of these events, and it shows how hard student council has been working to improve the community.
“So far I think it’s going to be a big thing, and I think it will be fun because we get to decorate our trunks. Hopefully, it goes well and then we can do it again next year,” Fielder said.
Student council has been checking the weather and if they will do mini games for the kids. They have also been thinking about who they should cater this towards, who should set up their trunks, and where the event will take place.
“I am super excited, primarily because it involves the high school with the many elementaries and the Middle School,” sophomore Montegomery Faris said.
Coil and Ventura have been working well together so the event goes well. They share ideas and will be at the event to make sure everything is running smoothly.
“I feel a bit pressured to make this event run well, but since I am working with a partner, my partner definitely helps ease the pressure. I also feel motivated to make this as amazing as I can,” Ventura said.
Student Council has also asked different clubs to come and participate in the event as they want to bring the community closer together. They want everyone who is able to participate to go and have a fun time.
“I am looking forward to seeing all the happy smiles from the community and bringing everyone together!” Ventura said.
