December 20 marks the end of the first semester of 2022. The students of Hastings Senior High School have different perspectives on how the first semester went.
“I think the first semester went pretty good. I think it went by faster than it should have,” senior Caden Anderjaska said.
In the span of the first semester, there were many events that were presented, such as homecoming, the volleyball tournament, trunk or treat, and sports games.
“My favorite event in the first semester was probably homecoming because I spent it with some good friends and we had a fun time,” junior Cara Ansbach said.
Throughout the semester, there were some challenges and obstacles that the students faced, such as studying well to ace a test or facing hard competitors when playing a sport.
“In my opinion, the most challenging thing in the first semester is the class anatomy, specifically the bone practical. I studied way too long for it, but I got a good grade,” Anderjaska said.
Even though some students had to face different challenges throughout the semester, they were able to experience something memorable to them.
“Being a manager of the boys tennis team, multiple different matches and tournaments were very memorable. Watching the team grow and being able to spend time doing what I love with others is something I will always remember,” Ansbach said.
As the second semester is about to begin, there are many things that the students are looking forward to, such as spring activities and new classes.
“Next semester, I start my season for tennis, so I’m definitely looking forward to that. I am also getting my first open in my high school career next semester and I am excited for that as well,” Ansbach said.
As the first semester is wrapping up, the students of HHS are ready to take on the second semester.
“I think the first semester went by pretty well and fast in my opinion. Overall, this semester was great, and I hope next semester goes the same!” junior Karen Navarrete said.
