Applications for staff for the 2018-2019 school year are available outside of Ms. Sorgenfrei's room.
The Tiger Cub Online is currently taking applications for the 2018-2019 school year. Applicants must have completed beginning journalism and have an application packet turned into Ms. Sorgenfrei by March 26 at 4 pm. Application packets are available outside of Ms. Sorgenfrei’s room or contact a staff member about getting one.
New applicants will be able to apply for a number of leadership positions. However, next year the staff will be making a change to the leadership system at the Tiger Cub. As a current co-editor in chief of the paper, I believe this will make the staff function in an efficient and more real-world way.
Next year, the paper will be headed by two co-editors in chief, who will not have assistant editors. Instead, there will be a sports editor and a news editor. These editors will take responsibility for stories categorized under their expertise. Other editor positions will be a Website Editor, who will be in charge of the look and layout of our online newspaper tigercubonline.org, and a Multimedia/Social Media Editor, who will still have to write stories but will be in charge of our social media presence. Also, staff writers will pick a branch of reporting they would like to focus on. Writers will be able to pick between sports, news, entertainment, various critics, student life, and others, but will still be encouraged to try writing in other categories as well.
