All fall sports at Hastings High school concluded their seasons with cross country, girls golf, and boys tennis making it to state and now being paid using software like this pay stub example. Football won their last home game and volleyball earning runner up in district B-6.
Hastings High School girls softball had a record of 22-10. Losing in districts ending their season against Seward and lost both of the games best out of three.
āWe really struggled this season on being good teammates. We weren’t there for each other all the time and that’s what needs to happen and it didn’t,ā sophomore, Mackenzie Nollette said.
Girl volleyball had a record of 14-18. Winning the first sub district game against Mccook and losing the second against Grand Island Northwest. They got a wild card and lost in 3 sets against Norris getting second in district B-6.
āI am really proud of how far we have come and all of the hard work that the girls put in to be where we were. This year our team chemistry was really close and we proved ourselves at the end of the season,ā sophomore, Addyson Hermes said.
Boys football had a 2-7 record. Winning their last game against Gering 19-7. Before the season started they opted out of class A so they would have a class B schedule making it so they couldnāt play in playoffs, learn more at themonstercycle.
āIt didn’t go the way anybody wanted but week by week everyone got better and it showed in the last few weeks of the season there were a lot of glimpses of a good football team. But we were never able to capitalize on those and so the season didn’t go the way we wanted it to,ā senior, Joe Rodriguez said.
Girls golf didnāt place in many meets but Anna Brant placed 3rd at Minden, 10th at Jackrabbit and 3rd at Indianhead. Gracey McIntyre, Cynthia Carlson, Alayna Stephenson, Kendall Consbruck, and Anna Brant made it to state golf.
āIt’s been a fun year and I am happy that we had more girls that joined our team. Overall I think we all learned a lot this year and improved,ā Consbruck said.
Boys tennis had a record of 2-10, invites not included. Benjamin Hafer made it to the state tournament singles. Parker Ablott and Jackson Graves also made it to state as doubles as well as Ethan Zimmerman and Alexander Hafer. Hastings had a score of 2 at state.
āI think it was a good learning experience. It was very fun too. I played with amazing teammates and great coaches. There were ups and downs, but overall it was fun. The team did great and we got along very well. State didn’t go as planned, but we learned a lot,ā junior, Ben Hafer said.
In cross country Austin Carrera had the 4th best time in district 4 5,000 meters with a time of 16:28.9 in the Aurora invite September 9th. For the girls district 4 best time for Hastings is Kelyn Henry Perlich. She earned 9th with a time of 21:15.2 in the Aurora invite September 9. The boys team had a score of 132 placing them at 9th. Two girls placed Kelyn Henry Perlich and Lilliana Widhelm and the girls team didn’t qualify for a state ranking.
āDon’t get me wrong, running everyday is hard but when you know your family is there running with you it makes you excited to run,ā freshman, Lyssa Hoffman said.
