School Made Easy
10. Sparknotes app comes in as ten on the list. The app is great for reviewing a book that you’ve already read. I would never rely on it as a way to cheat past not reading, but more like a refresher before a test. One problem I have with this app is it is glitchy at times and you have to be patient with it.
9. The Google Drive app is a great resource for managing your school drive. This app works alongside Google’s other apps, Docs, Presentation, and Spreadsheets . If you are on the bus going to a game you can just pull out your phone instead of bringing your whole computer along. I use it mostly to check up on what I have done and what I need to do.
8. Want a jumpstart and preparer for your SAT? Then I would suggest getting the SAT question of the day app. Everyday there is a new question for the category that you want to study. These questions are very similar to what you’ll see on the SAT test.
7. Aurasma is an app that goes along with this year’s yearbook. It Links the pictures, in the yearbook to videos of the actual events. You will need this free app to see the videos in the 2014-2015 Tiger yearbook.
6. Khan Academy is the teacher when you’re at home working on homework or studying for a test. I find it great for science but also has stuff for math, economics and finance, arts and humanities, and computing. The only downside is that it’s only on the iPhone App Store.
5. The MyScript Calculator is a typical calculator with a twist. On this app you can write out simple or more complex equations without having to type out a number. This is great if you’re not comfortable with your calculator and inputting equations.
4. When looking for a free calendar app that can beat out stock android and iPhone calendar, I found out that stock calendars are even if not better than one you purchase. Both link with all your calendars from google calendars, which you can link with other’s calendar with permission, and also your hotmail calendar.
3. The Quizlet app is great for remembering vocab. I mostly use it for German, science, and English classes. You can play simple games with your vocab that can help you match definitions and a words within minutes.
2. The PowerSchool app is great for checking your grades, lunch money balance, and school announcements. It’s easy to use once you know your powerschool username and password. I like how you can know what you got on that test before everyone else.
1. Coming in first is Remind. This app is great for teachers to keep in contact with their students. Mrs. Headstrom one of Hastings High english teacher says she uses it at least three times a week and more people sign up weekly because their friends find it useful.
