With the 2015-2016 school year coming to and end, the seniors are already finished with school. The only warm bodies roaming the halls are the freshman, sophomores, and juniors.
Empty halls, more parking spots and even quieter classrooms are what many students experience with the seniors gone.
“It’s a relief not rushing to school trying to get a nice parking spot,” junior Austin Seamann said.
That’s not the only thing that is a relief to some Juniors.
“The other juniors and I are practically seniors, it’s a great feeling!” junior Gracie Lopez said.
High school is just a temporary part of any student’s life. Senior year may sound wonderful, but it’s also the year to get your choices and mind set into gear.
Some students think that senior year is the year to “slack off”, take the easy classes and only worry about reaching the minimum of five classes.
“Don’t let ‘senioritis’ make you lazy or an excuse to quit or procrastinate. Take advantage of every opportunity that high school has to offer,” senior Sidney Kenny said.
The question is, should upcoming seniors take as many classes as they can?
“As a senior I think it’s important to take hard classes, don’t slack off, it’s okay to challenge yourself, “ senior Zoey Cook said.
Taking Honors classes, AP classes, and even a one semester class is something to be taken advantage of, especially since it’s free.
But, having a little free time is also something essential.
“Don’t forget to have at least one open period, the best open period to have is over lunch so you can meet up with friends,” said Cook.
Senior year is the year many look forward to. It’s the year that ends an important chapter in your life. Just remember to study, keep your grades up and stay positive even when it gets hard.
“My advice to upcoming seniors would be to not let time just fly by, live everyday like it’s the last,” said Kenny.
