Everybody has a goal or two that they want to complete before the school year is out, but each and every person has their own opinion on how they should be accomplished.
“I think the drive to achieve the goal is more important than the goals alone because without it, goals are just wishes,” senioer John Udesen said.
Udesen’s goals for this year are pretty standard.
“The only goal I have really is to graduate with good grades. Everything else has always been a come what may sort of thing,” he said.
Senior Alyssa Ziemba had a bit of a different opinion on how to achieve goals.
“Because they [goals] give you something in your future to work towards,” she said.
Although not everyone agrees that goals are something to really work for, they all agree that it’s important to have them.
“The goals I have are to graduate and then get into a good college,” Ziemba said.
So what kind of goals should someone have?
“You decide what it is you want to accomplish, and you decide what it is you really need to do,” French teacher Tamara Cecrle said.
This means that it’s up to you as the individual to make your own descisions, not society. But how should you work on your goals?
“It depends on whether you’re working on present goals or goals for the future,” Ceclre said.
But here’s the kicker, it’s not only students that should have goals.
“It’s not important for students to set goals, but everybody,” Ceclre said.
So it depends on who you are and what you like to do that determines your goals, not society. But we can all agree, no matter what the goal is, that it’s important to get the job done.
