This past weekend, the boys and the girls Hastings Tigers basketball teams traveled to Scottsbluff for the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference tournament. The GNAC conference is held up by 4 class A teams and 4 class B teams.
The girls started off the tournament with a game against a tough class A team, the North Platte Bulldogs. The Lady Tigers lost the game 58-40, but battled back the rest of the way and placed 5th overall, later defeating Lexington 53-41 and McCook 57-47. The girls have now bumped their record up to 4-5 on the season.
The boys also drew North Platte in the first round, losing 44-30. They boys’ next game was played against McCook, where their defense tromped the Bison, winning with a tally of 53-32. The boys ended up taking 6th place, losing to Columbus by a score of 63-41. The boys record now stands at 3-6.
Next up for the Tigers’ basketball teams is a road game against Lexington, this Saturday.
