Every year, millions of people make promises to themselves for the next year. This could be something as simple as getting more sleep or something more ambitious like trying to eat healthier and work out every day. People tend to start the first few days off strong, staying true to their resolution. As a couple of weeks go by, the resolution they made at the end of last year falls to the back of their mind, and they often times stop doing it all together. Only about 20 percent of people keep their resolutions for the whole year. Here are some tips to help you keep your resolution or get back on track with it.
1. Make your resolution practical
2. Keep a journal with your progress
3. Break down your goal into manageable chunks
4. Treat yourself after reaching a specific goal
5. One slip-up doesn’t mean you should give up entirely
6. Get a support system to keep you accountable
