Moves to impeach polarizing figure Donald Trump have officially moved forward by the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. Despite the fact that the impeach Trump movement has been active as long as Donald Trump was officially elected, it has only recently picked up momentum after the recent actions pushed forward by Pelosi. Disregarding the fact that she originally denied wanting a push for impeaching Trump, Pelosi has now changed her opinion of the matter. “The actions of the Trump presidency revealed dishonorable facts of betrayal of his oath of office and betrayal of our national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections,” Pelosi said.
This general push for impeachment revolves around a few different reasons. The first is due to the 2016 election controversy which alludes to Trump working with Russia to secure an election by damaging Democrat Hillary Clinton’s reputation while talking up republican nominee, Donald Trump. The second reason why many Democrats are now pushing for the impeachment of Trump deals with the fact that he tried to allegedly work with Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden, a democratic frontrunner for the 2020 election, and his son. It is partially unknown why this action was moved forward on, but recent polls suggest that over 55% of current U.S. citizens believe Donald Trump should be impeached.Â
The future of the presidency is uncertain as of now, but despite the fact that impeachment would seemingly do much for the current political climate, some are suggesting that it would be utterly pointless to move forward on these accusations. Many are saying that due to this fact Mike Pence, Vice President, would simply take Donald Trump’s spot, and nothing would change. Regardless of this, Donald Trump’s dedicated fanbase is likely to support him through this, despite what information comes out. His controversial twitter continues to be battered with complaints as he continues to voice his opinion of the matter. Regardless, the future is yet to come for President Donald Trump, and whether or not he will hold that title for long.Â
