The City of Hastings Utilities Department announced February 16th that due to the weather conditions they’d be performing citywide blackouts. The blackouts intervals were about 30 minutes each to save and preserve energy.
Residents were asked to use as little power as possible to help the process. After only a few places experienced blackouts, the Utilities Department decided to stop the programmed blackouts. The City of Hastings still wants residents to preserve energy at home in case they will have to continue the blackouts.
