The week of April 2nd through the 6th was definitely the calm before the storm. There was no school on Monday and Tuesday.
Tuesday: All juniors, class of 2019, had to take the ACT which lasted from 8 am to 1 pm.
Wednesday: All students came back on Wednesday and was an orange day. Due to weather many sports games got canceled or postponed. Girls tennis in Kearney got canceled. Girls and boys soccer vs York got postponed. Boys baseball vs Seward got postponed.
Thursday: On Thursday, boys golf was at Meadowlark Hills, the best place was Nikos Theoharis scoring 98 points. Boys and Girls track was at the Kearney Outdoor invite which was supposed to be on Friday but was pushed forward due to weather.
Saturday: Boys baseball played Norfolk winning 10-0. Both girls and boys soccer were at GNAC in Norfolk also. Both teams were 5th seeds. Boys played Lexington but lost 3-2. Girls played Norfolk and won 2-0. HHS girls soccer competed in the semifinals against Kearney High (#1 seed) and Hastings won in a shootout. Hastings girls will take on Columbus in the GNAC championship at a later date TBD. The soccer boys later played Norfolk and lost 3-1.
