Students at Hastings High participated in The Woman is Requested to Pay (TWIRP) Week activities this past week sponsored by Student Council.
Monday was fake injury day where students came to school sporting bandages and boo-boos. Later that night a dodgeball tournament was held in the school gymnasium.
On Tuesday students wore tie dye to school and participated in swing dancing lessons in the gymnasium.
Wednesday was white out and also the walking truth. Student Council members were tapped throughout the day and were not allowed to talk in an effort to raise awareness for teen driving accidents. To learn more about the walking truth check out Sarah Waite’s story linked here. Students were invited to eat at Dairy Queen at 7 p.m..
On Thursday seniors were requested to wear their clothing showing their choice of college for next year. A board game night was also hosted in the Hastings Senior High library.
Friday students wore Tiger apparel to show their school spirit. There was also prom set up in the gym.
Prom is to be hosted this Saturday in the gymnasium with a post prom celebration to follow. Prom starts at 8 p.m. and crowning will be at 9 p.m.. Prom ends at 11 p.m..
