Although some have been attending Hastings High for four years, there might be a few places they haven’t seen. Similar to the seven wonders of the world that you must visit before you die, they will be referred to as “The Wonders of HHS”, and you have to see them before you graduate.
After some exploring, the school turns out to be much more than what meets the eye. The following locations are the best places to check out (with a teacher’s permission)!
1. The Catwalks
Possibly the creepiest place in the school, the catwalks above the theatre are high on the list. Unless you are a member of theatre, you probably haven’t ventured up the steep stairs to the catwalks. Because it’s not exactly a popular hangout, the doors are almost always locked. Make sure you get permission!
2. The Dust Room
If you ask a teacher to see The Dust Room, chances are they will have no idea what you’re talking about. The truth is that there is really no name for this room. If your vision isn’t impaired by all of the flying dust, you will only be able to see two things; pipes and dirt. It is located directly below Mr. Opperman’s office, and is only accessible through a closet in Mr. Nicolarsen’s room.
3. The Boiler Room
Heat. Tunnels. Pipes. Heat. Located near the old pool, the boiler room can be found after walking through a long and hot tunnel. Adventuring here is not recommended unless you want to get in trouble or die of a heat stroke.
4. The Old Pool
Even though there is no water and hardly any “pool” left of this space, it is still an interesting location. Because of the remodeling of the girls’ locker room, what used to be the surface is now covered with a new floor. It is uncertain what will become of the area. Some ideas include turf for football and wood floors with mirrors for cheer and Tigerette practices.
5. The Storage Space Behind the Lecture Hall
This storage closet just might be the unofficial home of the largest encyclopedia collection ever. It might not be a great discovery, but it is still worth noting.
