The United States is currently $18.4 trillion dollars in debt. If you didn’t know that’s a lot of money, approximately 232 times the net worth of Bill Gates. One thing 2016 Republican presidential hopeful Trump happens to be good at is managing finances.
Sure he may not be the nicest guy around, but I’d rather have someone tell me how it is straight up than try to sugar coat it and not be prepared. Donald Trump isn’t afraid to say what he wants and I think that’s a good aspect in a president. Would you rather be lied too?
I don’t agree with Trump’s view on deporting all illegal immigrants, but you can’t deny the border is a problem. His idea to build a giant wall stretching the length of the US-Mexico border may just work. An article by MSNBC stated that 8.4 million pounds of marijuana is smuggled across the border. This amount increases every year and officials are only able to seize about 20 percent of this amount. Keep in mind there are still three other border states with their own drug problems as well.
Again focusing on the money side of things Trump said this, “Last quarter, it was just announced, our gross domestic product — a sign of strength, right? But not for us: It was below zero. Who ever heard of this? It’s never below zero. Our labor participation rate was the worst since 1978.”
Everyone likes to report America’s unemployment rating, but that is nowhere close the actual percentage of Americans without jobs. People have given up on jobs and those no longer looking aren’t factors towards that rating. Trump believes our true unemployment rating to be somewhere closer to 18 percent. He attributes this directly to China and Mexico stealing our jobs. I can’t say I disagree.
People find it easy to disregard his politically-incorrect comments because that’s easier than trying to find a solution to the real problem. Small businesses have no problem with hiring illegal immigrants because it is less expensive to do so. For each immigrant that’s hired leaves one American without a job. If you spend all your time worrying about everyone else you’ll never be successful yourself.
One thing Trump and I have in common is we hate Obamacare. Trump comments, “It is a disaster. And remember the $5 billion website? Five billion we spent on a website. And to this day it doesn’t work. A $5 billion website. I have so many websites I have all over the place. I hire people, they do a website, it’ll cost me $3.”
The people that run our government think they have to have the best. They’re forgetting about their millions of citizens. Surely there’s a programmer out there that could’ve done that website for far less. And what really gets me is where did that five billion even go? I know for sure the equipment didn’t cost more than $500,000. Our government is constantly lying to us and I’m fed up with it. Give Trump his chance and I believe he’ll prove the doubters wrong.
